If you’re on this site, you HOpefully know us and we probably know you. but we figured it would be nice to give our Friends and family a brief history of our relationship. Read on for 10+ years of ben & erin – from mods to marriage.
Boston College, January 2014. Ben had just returned to campus from his junior semester abroad in Spain to find a new face in his club, the Quality of Student Life Committee. Erin, a sophomore, joined the previous semester at the recommendation of some friends. The two first bonded at a friend’s party, where Erin recognized Ben from the club and approached him because he looked ‘sad and lonely’ (Ben remembers this differently). They exchanged numbers after discovering a mutual love for Lake Winnipesaukee, Ben having grown up in the Lakes Region, and Erin having spent time there visiting her Aunt Jen and Uncle Bob in the summers. From that night, the two became close friends – spending time together at Happy Hours, eating lunch in the Rat, and helping each other study for finals.

Their friendship grew over the next few years, eventually landing Ben a day-before “seat filler” invite to Cait’s (Erin’s sister) wedding. Likely as a result of Ben’s dance moves that night, later in the summer of 2015 he had officially won her over.
Once Erin graduated, she moved a few streets down from Ben in Brookline, and their relationship bloomed. They spent countless hours together; taking the T to work in the mornings, going to trivia at Coolidge Corner Clubhouse on Tuesday nights, tailgating at BC in the fall, and getting to know the families in New Hampshire and Connecticut.
Eventually, they were ready to take the next step and move in together – but not without their friend and roommate, Jameson. After a few great years, Jamo moved out. Ben and Erin stayed at the apartment (with the occasional move to a new unit) and love their home in the city.
Ben and Erin continued to take on life together – a pandemic, new jobs, new friends, the marriages of family and friends, the passing of loved ones, the birth of nieces and nephews…both good and tough times that brought them closer and closer together.

On November 10th, 2023, in the same park where Erin’s parents were engaged, Ben proposed and Erin said yes (a few times). The day was capped off with a surprise celebration with family, friends, and a very hardworking bartender.

After a decade together, we’re finally getting married! We can’t wait to see everyone and celebrate with you all.
It’s you – our family and friends – who we have to thank for so many laughs, for our most cherished memories, and for your endless love and support. Our relationship is what it is because of you all. We cannot wait to say cheers with you, and to you, at the wedding.
Much love,
Ben & Erin
