What should I wear?

Our dress code is black-tie optional. For men, this would mean a tuxedo or dark suit, and for the ladies, a floor-length gown, cocktail dress, or other formal outfits are preferred. But, have fun with it–we want you to be comfortable and feel your best! The ceremony and reception will be outdoors on grass/turf, so plan footwear as you see fit.

What’s the weather like in York, Maine?

June is a beautiful time of year to visit York. Temperatures can vary, but on average, days are between 57 and 73 degrees, likely with a bit of a breeze coming off the water. Like anywhere, rain is possible, but it’s like we always say – if you don’t like the weather in New England, just wait a minute.

How do we get from our hotel to the wedding venue?

Two shuttles will run from The Nevada to Viewpoint, with specific times to be provided as we get closer to the wedding (check back here). If you are staying at Stones Throw, please plan to meet at The Nevada – just a minute walk down the street. If you choose to drive, follow the directions on your GPS and a parking attendant will direct you upon arrival.

ARE KID(S) ALLOWED?

We adore your little ones, but for this weekend, we’re keeping it adults-only. Thank you so much for understanding.

Will we be inside or outside?

The wedding will be outside on grass with a tented reception to follow. With weather being fairly unpredictable, we recommend you consider the elements and dress accordingly for an outdoor Maine wedding. Umbrellas will be provided in the event of rain.

Will there be an open bar?

We’re surprised you had to ask! Yes, there will be an open bar starting at the conclusion of the ceremony through the reception.

WILL THERE BE PARKING AT THE WEDDING?

Viewpoint will provide parking for guests of the wedding, but space may be somewhat limited. We encourage guests staying on Long Sands to take advantage of the provided shuttle.

If I’m not staying at the Viewpoint hotel can I still visit the property outside of scheduled events?

The property has a policy that only hotel guests may be onsite outside of approved events (i.e., the wedding). However, it is understood that guests will be coming from out of town and may want to swing by to visit friends and family staying there – that is OK!

I HAVE A DIFFERENT QUESTION.
